Note 1: This value of R

7 ensures that the line current will be zero around

the zero-crossing of the line voltage, which is the required condition for

low-distortion line current.

Note 2: This value of R

8 ensures that the sum of the voltage drop across

8 (caused by the peak inductor current) and the voltage drop across R

(caused by the instantaneous value of the stabilizing current) is equal to

the threshold voltage of the current-control detector at the peak of the

line voltage.
