Information on EX:

Cable glands and blind plugs for use in

hazardous areas are tested independently

of the unit enclosure and are certified as

electrical material with EC type-

examination certificates in accordance with

EU directive 94/9/EC (ATEX). They are

suitable for introducing cables and leads

into hazardous areas in equipment group

II, categories 2 and 3, with gas explosion

protection G, and/or in some cases with

dust explosion protection D, in ignition

protection types EEx e “increased safety”

(EN 60079-7) and EEx i “intrinsic safety”

(EN 60079-11). For ignition protection type

EEx i, we can also supply the polyamide

cable glands for marking with a blue cap

nut.
